Kenny Toh
is a professional life coach, trainer, speaker, writer, entrepreneur,
and founder of The Coaching Academy and
International Network for
Parents as Coaches. He lives a life of passion and purpose by
helping others live fuller lives through conducting public seminars on
personal transformation and the art of joyful living, providing one-to-one
coaching, delivering talks and workshops, conducting on-going research and
development in the field of coaching and personal transformation, and
writing on topics related to the unleashing of human potential, joyful
living and parenting.
His articles and insight on parenting have been
featured in publications such as Young Parents, Today’s Parents,
Family Magazine, Mother and Baby, and FOSTER. He also contributes
regularly to the Parent Coach column in Family Magazine and
the Life Lessons segment in Mind Your Body, a weekly
supplement of The Straits Time.

As a passionate father and
leading advocate for Parents-as-Coaches, he is a well sought
after speaker who has addressed hundreds of parents at events and
organizations such as the Joyful Parenting Seminar 2006, Ministry of
Defense Headquarters, Nanyang Technological University, Civil Service Club @ Bukit Batok, the National Centre for
Leadership Institute, a junior college, and several secondary, primary and
pre-schools in Singapore.
Born in Malaysia, he first came to
Singapore in 1988 as an ASEAN scholar at National Junior College, and
subsequently completed a double degree in business and technology at Monash
University (Australia) under a full scholarship from the Australian
government. Prior to becoming a life coach and entrepreneur, he was a manager
at Accenture, a global management and technology consulting firm. Over a span
of seven years in management consulting, he has worked with various financial
institutions in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Mauritius, specializing in
the implementation of banking solutions, execution of post-merger integration,
and leading organizational change projects in the area of financial and
performance management.
Trained and certified in various
disciplines in coaching and personal transformation including Neuro-Linguistic
Programming (NLP), Neuro-Semantics and Timelines, Kenny is an
experienced and highly versatile coach who has worked with a diverse mix of
individuals, including CEO’s and senior executives, managers, business
professionals, civil servants, teachers, parents, students and young
children. He is known to deliver his work in a passionate, engaging and
thought provoking manner. He is also currently pioneering the
application of coaching in a new ‘Learning Mentor’ initiative at a secondary
school, aimed at helping a group of underperforming students identify and
overcome their barriers to learning so as to enable them to become effective
learners and achieve greater academic performance.
Kenny is also known as ‘The
Fisher,’ the lifestyle entrepreneur who founded
Gone Fishing,
a small and unique neighbourhood café that has evolved into a creative space
in which several artists, comedians, film makers, musicians, philosophers,
poets, and singers have lived out their dreams. He has appeared in
The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Today Newspaper, Channel 5,
Channel News Asia, Channel U, Suria, Radio 938Live and UFM1003.
In October 2006, he was also awarded the Spirit of
Enterprise 2006 Award, an accolade which honours some of the most
inspiring entrepreneurs in Singapore. As a commitment to share his passion
for life with the general public, he currently hosts a monthly workshop
entitled
Tuesday with Fisher, in which he engages participants from all
walks of life to discuss and explore a range of topics related to the art of
living. This free workshop is held on the first Tuesday of each month at Gone
Fishing café, 15 Chu Lin Road.
